 Responsibilities:

      ●     Quality control responsible, Managed to enroll the Lab in UK-NEQAS CD4 

             External QC and attended some workshops on the same (UK-NEQAS).

•  Proper maintenance of laboratory material and equipment in CCC-lab 
• Assist to improve the working practice in the Laboratory (follow-up of good laboratory practice guidelines and quality control procedures).
• Perform and improve good laboratory practice; 
  • Identify and minimize hazards in the laboratory.
  • Improve hygiene by working safely and follow safety, disinfection and waste management directives at all times.

Objective:

To ensure that Quality management System is kept up to date, that it remains suitable and it is regularly evaluated and monitored. To ensure all AMPATHPlus Care laboratory activities are in compliance with its own Quality Management System, ISO 15189:2012 standard and regulations from accrediting bodies.

Responsibilities:

• To plan and coordinate scheduled internal audits of all the laboratory processes.
• To coordinate staff training on Quality Management System.
• To ensure that all processes of the Quality Management System are established, implemented and maintained.
• To coordinate annual reviews of all documents of the Quality Management System to ensure continued suitability.
• To guide and coordinate document control processes for AMPATHPlus Care laboratory. Provide direction on proper identification, filing, retrieval, and archiving of documents in accordance with records control procedure.
• To head, coordinate the development and maintenance of the Laboratory QMS.
• Develop Laboratory Quality Management plan. 
• Regularly review, revise, and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
• Collaborates with the Laboratory manager in corresponding with accrediting bodies.
• To ensure that accreditation standards are upheld in the laboratory.
• To inform accrediting body of major changes in the laboratory that might affect accreditation status. 

Achievements:

Managed to lead the lab as the Quality officer to the attainment of ISO 15189:2012 accreditation by Kenas by December 2016.

Responsibilities

• COBAS 8800 Application and Viral Load/EID Analysis/Covid-19 testing.
• CAP-CTM Application and Viral Load/EID Analysis.
• Abbott m2000 System for Viral Load/Eid and Covid-19 analysis.
• Laboratory Stock, Inventory and Supply Management.
• To ensure that all processes of the Quality Management System are established, implemented and maintained. 
• To promote awareness of users ‘needs and requirements throughout  Ampathplus Care  laboratory 
• To ensure that patient results are released only by authorized competent personnel. 

• To assist heads of units in evaluating quality control data to determine trends and carry out corrective actions on the undesirable ones.
• To report audit results and trends to other members of the laboratory management team.
•  To assist in the development of corrective actions plans to address any non-conformances identified through internal audits, customer complaints or accidents or incidents investigation.
• Collaborating and advising heads of units, the laboratory manager and the head of the laboratory to plan the validation process for new procedures and equipment.
• To undertake performance appraisal reviews for deputy Quality Manager and unit Quality officers and identify ways of motivating them.
• To provide advice on the evaluation and selection of suppliers of reagents and consumables.
• To provide advice on the evaluation and selection of suppliers of referral/back-up laboratories.
• To provide advice to users of the laboratory on: Choices of tests; sample requirements; use of request form; sample transportation; interpretation of results and use of the Laboratory Information System.
• To undertake any other duty as may be required of a Nominated Representative for the accrediting body.

EDUCATION:

2015-2018:        Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences at

                           Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

1999-2001:        Diploma Medical Laboratory Technologist at 

                           Mombasa Polytechnic.

1994-1997:        Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) at Shimo-La- Tewa
