About Tinna Amisa:

I am a dedicated counseling psychologist with extensive experience in providing support, rehabilitation, and guidance to individuals in various stages of transition. My approach is grounded in empathy and a commitment to empowering my clients to regain autonomy over their lives.

As a registered member of the Kenya Psychological Association (KPsyA), I adhere to the highest standards of professional ethics and continuously seek to expand my knowledge and expertise in the field of Psychology. My passion for helping others navigate life's challenges and assisting them in their journey towards healing and personal growth drives my work.

Experience

As a trainee counseling psychologist at Mathari National Training and Referral Hospital, I had the opportunity to provide therapy services under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. This experience allowed me to develop strong collaborative skills, working closely with healthcare professionals from various disciplines to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

During my time as a mental health specialist at Project Elimu, I honed my ability to create a safe and supportive environment for children. I actively promoted mental health awareness and education through outreach activities, while also conducting intake assessments and developing treatment plans. Additionally, my research contributions helped shed light on the impact of after-school activities on children's mental well-being, leading to the formulation of policies that supported their mental health.

As a wellness Life Coach at Life Coaching Ke, I assisted clients in identifying their goals and developing action plans to achieve them. I facilitated their personal growth by improving their self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and decision-making skills. Moreover, I provided guidance and accountability, helping clients overcome obstacles and build strong relationships both personally and professionally.

In my current role as an independent counselor at Better Your Psyche, I focus on addressing mental health concerns, particularly developmental trauma and depression. I develop tailored treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize comprehensive care. My commitment to ethical practice is unwavering, and I maintain detailed and accurate client records.

Education

I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Counseling Psychology at the University of Nairobi from 2015 to 2019. I graduated with Second Class Honors (Upper Division) in Module 1.
