• Assessing, prescribing, measuring, manipulation and fabrication and issuing orthotics and prosthetics.
• Providing Orthopedic Services to patients for instance application of routine and specialist casting, including plaster jackets, cast bracing, frog casting, hip spices, functional bracing, splinting, club foot management, fracture reduction and management among others.
• Advise and educate patients and their cares on all aspects of caring for their casts/splints in relation to their injury both with verbal and written information.
• Processing, verifying and maintaining information relating to patients in line with care given and management.
• Attend wards and meet patients who are unfit to attend clinic for treatment.
• Assist the Orthopaedic Surgeon in operation theatre.
• Supervise staff and ensure that all clinical documentation is recorded and completed correctly.
• Coordinate inter departmental activities to ensure there is a proper working relationship among physiotherapists, occupational therapists and orthopaedic technologist.
• Following patient assessment, participate in care planning in partnership with medical staff.
