POLLING CLERK, INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL AND BOUNDARIES COMMISSION
(IEBC); NAIROBI WEST CONSTITUENCY, NAIROBI COUNTY — 2022
Participation in distributing ballot papers as well as ensure every voter was issued with every
ballot paper for the vacant candidacy positions.I also got to interact with lots of people in the
locality as well as my colleagues which was a new experience to me, Loved it.
Skills: Interpersonal skills; this helped me navigate social situations, and build
rapport with my new colleagues and the fact we had to stick with each other. Teamwork was
highly practised in order to achieve the objectives which was the accuracy in counting of the
bullet papers and delivery of the information as well as the resources to the main centre for
confirmation before announcement of the results.

FINANCE ATTACHÉ, KENYA POWER LIGHTING COMPANY(KPLC)
(8TH JAN-28TH MARCH)
I worked at this company as industrial attachment program that is part of my
coursework. I worked within the finance department for 12 weeks, I was shifted into
different sub-departments that is revenue, debt control, financial accounting and lastly
management accounting. I was shifted after 3 weeks conservatively, the roles include
bookkeeping of cheques from outer depots and internally, handling customers errors;
reallocation or refund of funds, ensuring the data of the customers request aligns with
their means of payment and provide the required documents in hardcopy & filing of
documents, data entry, cold-calling; this especially in the debt control section which
me and my colleagues were able to have collect 5M in 5days, I also got to learn and
use their daily softwares or applications they used I.e INCMS, SAP & Excel. The main
focus on this department is was that they had to meet their weekly objectives,
customer satisfaction and accuracy in the Revenue, financial(Cash management) and
management accounting and the need to improve in their performance efficiency and
delivery.It was an overall positive exciting experience for me.
