Sumaiya Abdikadir

My name is Sumaiya Abdikadir, a graduate of the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies Degree Course at Strathmore University.

 I am also a communications practitioner with impressive planning, problem-solving and analytical skills. I am also an eager learner with an ambition to relate theory and practice creatively. I am diligent in my tasks, and I strive to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. 

I have a strong background in fundraising and resource mobilization as in my previous role I was able to develop skills on researching in government, foundation, and corporate grants.

Writing, diplomatic event planning and public speaking are among my skills, and I am ready to put my knowledge to use in promoting your cause and creating value to all your relevant stakeholders. 

I am an inspiring leader who is motivated and energetic to bring change in the society and to stand for children, youth, and women rights. I have excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.

 I believe with my ability to speak fluently in English, Kiswahili and French will be an asset .

Fairtrade Africa - is a member of Fairtrade International and the umbrella network organization representing Fairtrade-certified Producer Organizations in Africa and the Middle East. It has four (4) regional networks – Eastern & Central Africa; Southern Africa; West Africa; and the Middle East & North Africa. FTA currently represents 1,354,294 farmers and workers in 660 producer organizations spread across 28 countries in Africa and the Middle East My role involved extensive research and communication. Proactive resource mobilization for Fair trade’s development needs. 

key ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Provided timely Research in government, foundation & corporate grants and other grants making organizations 
• Currently I support in knowledge management tasks 
• I develop short profiles as well as support the resource mobilization coordinator 
• I identify alternative sources of funding that are in line with FTA’s thematic areas. 
• I develop capacity statements, regional profile documents, project profile documents & impact documentation from completion reports & evaluation reports. 
• Supported in the youth related programmes e.g. FTA Youth

I am a graduate of bachelor of arts in International Studies from Strathmore University
