Duties and responsibilities;

∙ Technical assistance and reporting: Facilitate content specific background research, analysis and provide technical inputs to briefs and reports for staff development, business development and administrative record keeping. 

∙ Programme development: Provide technical advice to staff and implementing partners on technical themes to inform programme design and evolution based on best practices, background knowledge and contextual relativeness.

Kenya General Elections Presiding Officer Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission July 2022 – August 2022 

Duties and responsibilities; 

∙ Management and administration: Overall in-charge of the polling station, electoral procedures and electoral team. 

∙ Team supervision: Trained and managed polling agents on their duties and responsibilities to ensure compliance with the electoral procedures and mitigated potential problems.

 ∙ Poll station management: Controlled the flow of voters at the polling station and assisting voters who needed voter assistance.

 ∙ Monitoring and Reporting: Updated the Returning Officer regularly on voter turn-out and in coming cases of emergency. 

∙ Voter systems management: Updating voting procedures and progress on the provided electoral KIEMS kit for accuracy and security of voter information, transmission of electoral results to the national and constituency tallying centers. 

∙ Document handling and management: Ensured the safe handling of documents, counting and tallying casted votes, approval and signing of electoral results declaration forms, and announcing results in the designated polling station. 

Key Achievement: 

⮚ Ensured the seamless and peaceful flow of the entire polling exercise at the designated polling station.

 Senior Manager, Administration and Head of Programmes Heights Schools – Thika; 2010 – 2021

 Duties and responsibilities;

 ∙ Curriculum Implementation and Development: Led and collaborated in the development, implementation and evaluation of school programmes in close relation to the guidelines from the Kenyan education ministry.

 ∙ Team management: Managed and coordinated a cross-functional team from capacity building, methodologies of curriculum delivery, technical staff support to handle educational development of students and finance to ensure timely inputs and cost effective basis for all institutional monetary funds. 

∙ Partnership Building and External Relations: Established collaborative relationships with key partners such as the school’s P.T.A, T.S.C, KUPPET, K.N.U.T and the County Education Office in Kiambu to ensure effectiveness in delivery of curriculum programmes and represented the institution in external technical and strategic forums, meeting and working groups. 

∙ Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning: Coordinated various surveys, both internal and external to inform monitoring, evaluation and shared learning in achieving desired professional and academic performance in the institution.

 ∙ Community Strengthening: Periodically planned, organized and facilitated community cleaning exercises, inter-school learning and extra-curricular activities which encouraged student exposure, mutual learning, development of talent and competitiveness in school and in the community. Planned and coordinated career guidance seminars for students with the help and support of career professionals, guest parents, local administration and representatives from the local county education offices.

 ∙ Resource Management: Effectively made use of resources to ensure efficacy and a good return on investment for each and every stakeholder at the institution.

 Key Achievements: 

⮚ Created and oversaw a drug rehabilitation and teenage pregnancy back-to-school program and policy embedded on a strong guidance and counseling department programme which saw 60 students transform their lives and further their education in spite of the relevant challenges. 

⮚ Formulated and successfully implemented a digital literacy curriculum that contributed to the continuation of curriculum development and learning from pre-primary to form 4 classes. ⮚ Carried out strategic planning for the schools’ future growth, progress and extension into a double-streamed school from Primary to Secondary school sections.

 ⮚ Initiated a school fees sponsorship program for the less privileged which assisted a target 120 students.

 Customer Relations Representative (C.R.R) East African Breweries Limited; 2006 – 2009 

Duties and responsibilities; 

⮚ Partnership Building: Built and maintained partner-relationships with EABL affiliated beverage distributors, outlets/bar owners, and marketing support coordinators. 

⮚ Sales and Marketing: Carried out van-sales visit calls to market newly introduced brands to consumer outlets as well as resolve any customer grievances while on sales visits. 

⮚ Promotional Activations: Supported key outlets and early promising start-up outlets by running periodic brand promotions and activations to increase their sales of EABL brands across the board. 

⮚ Training and Mentorship: Trained and led brand awareness sessions for the sales crew and customer outlets salespersons to dispel misunderstandings and misinformation concerning the beverage brands in the EABL portfolio.

 Key Achievement: 

⮚ Met target sales goals in my assigned area of duty by rallying the distributor sales crew towards the same commonly shared sales goals.
