Sheryl Awuor

I am Sheryl Ojwando, a dedicated and ambitious student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Statistics at the University of Nairobi. I have been enrolled in the School of Mathematics since September 2020 and I am expected to graduate in 2024.

Prior to my university studies, I completed my secondary education at Asumbi Girls High School, where I obtained an impressive mean grade of A- in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. This solid academic foundation has contributed to my passion for pursuing statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.

Before my high school years, I attended Kanga Primary School, where I completed my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations. I achieved a commendable score of 343 out of 500 marks during this period.

HOBBIES:

In addition to my academic pursuits, I have developed a keen interest in various hobbies. I enjoy coding, which allows me to explore and apply my skills in data analysis and programming languages. Alongside coding, I find great pleasure in watching movies and documentaries, as they provide me with valuable insights and inspiration from different fields of knowledge.

Furthermore, I actively engage in participating in projects and conducting research in various areas. This hands-on experience allows me to broaden my understanding and apply my theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.

PERSONAL DETAILS:

I am a Kenyan national and proud of my heritage. As a female student, I am determined to excel in my academic journey and contribute to the fields of statistics and data analysis. Currently, I am 21 years old, and I possess fluency in English, Kiswahili, and Luo languages, which enables me to communicate effectively and connect with diverse individuals.

CAREER TARGET:

As I progress in my academic journey and gain valuable skills and knowledge, my ultimate career goal is to become a proficient data analyst. I aim to leverage my expertise in data analysis and statistical programming to solve real-world problems and provide meaningful insights to organizations and businesses.

Skills such as data analysis, R programming, Python, SPSS, SQL, and advanced Excel are some of the key areas in which I am developing proficiency. Alongside technical skills, I value effective communication, problem-solving abilities, patience, and humility as essential attributes for success in my chosen field.

EXPERIENCE:

To enhance my skills in data analysis, I completed a Data Analysis Course at Denaco Analytics in 2022. This course equipped me with practical knowledge and a certificate of completion, further strengthening my analytical abilities and ensuring that I am well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Overall, my academic journey, combined with my passion for coding, research, and data analysis, has laid a solid foundation for my future career. I am eager to continue learning, growing, and making meaningful contributions in the field of statistics.
