Senior Program and Community Development Manager. well versed in local and international complex programs; Humanitarian, disability and community empowerment programs.

I have a wide experience in the management of community projects as most of my working life has been on this and in the field. I started coordinating projects within Kisii and the surrounding counties seconded from the Ministry of Health to Association for the physically Disabled of Kenya as a Branch Coordinator.  I was thereafter instrumental to establishment of the branch facilities and community networks and a fabulous micro-finance project for persons with disabilities. My responsibilities included, staff management, proposal writing and budget controls, project implementation in line with organization and donor requirements.

In 2011, I joined Handicap International as a team member in Dadaab.  During the period, I was involved in curriculum development, report writing, proposal reviews, conducting training with specific timelines and outcomes. In April 2014, I was recruited by HI to the position of Project Manager in the Kakuma field officce. My responsibilities included general project management, financial controls, staff management, security management and networking with other agencies to improve the visibility of HI and its image. I was able to start and steer the HI project as a respected partner with other agencies as a recognized expert in Disability. In January 2017, I was elevated to the position of Area Manager in an Acting Capacity with Four managers under my management. I represented HI in inter- agency meetings and manage all project activities including security of the project at the field level in close consultation with Regional Coordinator for Refuges.

In 2017 I joined the Center for Victims of Torture CVT in Kakuma in a higher capacity as the Field Coordinator. Directly reporting to the country Director, my roles were;

• Overall management of the CVT program in Kakuma
• Financial supervision, logistic and guarding project material resources
• Human resource management at the field level
• Establishment and maintenance of linkages with partners including UNHCR, and the local leaders
• Security Management in close collaboration with the country Director 
• Ensuring quality Reports and timely submission from the field to relevant parties 
• Representation in various networks and technical leadership meetings
• Report writing and assisting in proposal development

Under my leadership, CVT grew within this short period from scratch to a strong member of other agencies and a stronger prayer in mental Health. 

In my working experience in Kakuma, I closely worked with all agencies including UNHCR, community leadership including host community and refugee leadership. I have also worked with other 5 agencies while in Kakuma in a DFID funding consortium at which period we closely ran various projects to conform and be responsive to donor requirements. I have wide experience in handling various donor requirements.

After completing my A’ level education, I joined the Kenya Medical training college Nairobi and qualified in 1990  as a physiotherapist. In January 2010 I enrolled for a post graduated Training (Community Health and Development) offered by AMREF/Moi University at AMREF International Training Center-Nairobi (Current AMREF University). Various Training in security, Project management and financial controls.
