I am a data analyst as well as Monitoring and Evaluation  expert with experience  in collecting,  organizing, interpreting and disseminating data. My working experience has equipped me with  creativity in finding solutions to problems and determining modifications for optimal use of  organizational data. The positions I have held  have  seen me  excel  in;  handling  data  quality  assessments, coming up with new data collection  tools,  entering data  using  accessGoogle  forms,  ODK and KoboCollect, collating and  analyzing  quality  statistical  data  using  SPSS, R,  STATA  and  Excel, monitoring  and carrying out surveys  on projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support all M&E initiatives for assigned projects including monitoring data quality, tracking the progress of activities and contributing to staff capacity building initiatives.
  • Formulating and implementing strategies to facilitate data collection, flow of data and increase its use and demand amongst program staff.
  • Providing and disseminating data on project progress on quarterly basis during quarterly reviews.
  • Defining and implementing the Key Performance indicators (KPI)-“Magic 4 indicators”- that aligns to the strategic objectives in the Balanced Score Card (BSC), as per the strategic plan.
  • Planning and coordinating baseline surveys, mid‐term reviews and evaluation of program activities and ensure proper documentation of innovative approaches and best practices for dissemination and sharing experiences to promote repeat applications or scaling‐up in different community settings.
  • Performing regular field visits in Kenya to ensure projects/programs are implemented according to project design.
  • Identifying strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and management systems and propose solutions along with M&E Manager.
  • Operationalizing Logical Framework.
  • Capacity building implementing staff on Logic Model to ensure that all activities done aligns well with the objectives in the MEL plan. 
  • Prepare consolidated progress reports for project management including identification of problems, causes of potential bottlenecks in the project implementation, and specific recommendations for addressing the problems.
  • Creating a framework and procedures for the monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
  • Developing, designing and planning of projects to ensure that they have defined measurable indicators of outputs, outcomes, and impact, including a clear and feasible strategy towards impact that is in line with HiH EA’S mission and strategy.
  • Gathering, summarizing and disseminating relevant technical updates on program planning monitoring, evaluation and operations research within the project.

SKILLS: KoboCollect for data collection, PowerBI for creating dashboard, Developing and Operationalizing Logic model and MEL Plan, Developing survey tools (Evaluation questionnaire for quantitative data collection, FGD and KII guides for Qualitative data collection), SPSS, Excel, R and STATA (All for data analysis), stakeholder analysis and feedback gathering.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designing data collection tool in KoboCollectQuestionnaire Design System (QDS) that helped the organization to collect data on Tatu Pamoja, Shauriana, Utawakuki and CaCHE projects.
  • Put validation measures to ensure that the required data is collected and this ensured that the quality control is in place always, and that the correct information was gathered for all the projects.
  • Training staff on the M&E data collection tools especially in KoboCollect tool and Open Data Kit-ODK.
  • Conducting baseline surveys and evaluations (both Mid-term and End-term Evaluations) on the running projects (Utawakuki, Shauriana and Tatu Pamoja), that really helped the management to evaluate the extent of project achievements and areas of improvement.
  • Conducting interviews with project participants-Both Focus Group Discussion as well as individual interviews on the ongoing projects, this was done successfully since the organization was able to track the indicators in their logical framework.
  • Downloading data from KoboCollect central Server and Verifying in the excel database provided before evaluating the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Verifying all the project data using source documents for accuracy purposes before submitting to the donor.
  • Cleaning projects’ data in STATA by formulating daily cleaning syntaxes in STATA Do Files.
  • Conducting field visits to check on the welfare of project participants and for project quality assurance.
  • Generating and presenting a report in PowerPoint; on Key Populations (KP) to help in tracking project indicators.
  • Maintaining data security and integrity.
