About Phoebe Ohodho:

As a trained teacher, I have been working in Dadaab refugee camp since 2014 to March 2022 implementing secondary education programs to the refugees.

I am currently taking masters in Education planning at Kenyatta University and have a certificate in functional educational Assessment of learners with Disabilities from Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE), and a degree in education Arts from Kenyatta University.

In March 2022 to June 2022, I was selected by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission to attend a Fellowship in the United Kingdom on the theme Girls Education.

Experience

Jan 2020 to march 2022 - Education project coordinator at Windle International Kenya in Dadaab Refugee camp.

July 2018 to Nov 2019 - Project officer overseeing remedial program for upper primary 520 school girls of grades 7 and 8 in the refugee camp. i coordinated the entire project and was in charge of 26 untrained refugee teachers who were offering remedial programs to the girls. In this project was also the Special needs component. I planned and budgeted for the selection of special needs girls to join the remedial program and ensured they received all the services they needed to learn until the project end of the project cycle in Nov 2019. 

May 2014 to July 2018 - Secondary classroom teacher in Nasib secondary school. I was also a classroom teacher.

All these I was working for the same organization - Windle International Kenya

Education

Jan 2021- Master in Education planning at Kenyatta University which is still in progress. 

2017-2018- Certificate in Functional and Educational Assessment at Kenya Institute of Special education which I successfully completed and graduated.

Sept 2007 to June 2022 - Degree in Education Art (Special Needs) at Kenyatta University
