About Paul Ochola:
I am a Resource Mobilisation Specialist with over 15 years' experience specifically carrying out needs assessment, identifying funding opportunities, donor mapping, leading the proposal development process, managing the donor pipeline, donor relations, capacity building and knowledge management.
Experience
I have fifteen years of professional and volunteer experience in fund raising and grants management, specifically, needs assessment, donor mapping, identifying new funding opportunities, developing and managing fundraising strategy, proposal writing, establishment and maintenance of donor and stakeholder data base, facilitation of donor field visits, knowledge management, partnerships development and grantee compliance as well as building capacity of staff and partners, which you will find relevant in this role.
I am currently employed as the Resource Mobilisation Officer at Finnish Mission Kenya. I have most recently been employed as the Regional Resource Mobilisation Coordinator (East Africa) at We Effect, a Swedish development NGO. In my role, I successfully raised funds from DANIDA; three grants from EU for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania; two grants from FAO for Kenya and Tanzania; two grants from GIZ for Kenya and Uganda. I have trained 37 partners and We Effect staff in resource mobilisation strategy development. I have previously worked as Country Fundraising Lead for BRAC, Uganda, a Resource Mobilization Advisor with the Agricultural Consultative Forum in Zambia and, Fundraising and Organizational Development Advisor for African Research Association managing Development in Nigeria.
I possess a Master of Arts in Politics and International Relations, a diploma in Environmental Management as well as training in fund raising and grants management from VSO that are relevant to your organisation.
My strong and demonstrated knowledge and understanding and commitment to biodiversity, global justice, social change, Children’s and youths’ rights, and gender equality, underpins my motivation for this exciting role. You will find me target oriented, a team player, dynamic, personable with excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing. I have excellent organisational, analytical, strategic planning and execution, interpersonal, as well as negotiation and prioritisation skills.
