I have accumulated experience in dealing with Learners.

I am passionate about ensuring that all learners gain from the education system by removing barriers, especially those affecting learners with disability.

I have skills in transcribing and reading brain symbols and endeavor to ensure that learners with visual impairments use alternative ways to read and write like their typically developing peers.

I am a graduate Special Needs Educator specializing in visual impairment. I am currently motivated to work with your school in imparting knowledge to students. From my special needs training, I possess unique skills that have helped me understand the unique needs of learners and attend to them.  Besides that, I would also like to improve my experience in working with humanity at different levels not only in the academic setup but also in other dimensions and from all walks of life.

WORK EXPERIENCE

July 12th to September 17th, 2022- Teacher- student at OUR LADY OF MERCY SHAURI MOYO GIRLS PRIMARY SCHOOL.

It is a primary school in Nairobi and has a special needs unit. The school provides services for learners with visual impairment and Autism. 

Activities and responsibilities.

1. Identifying a learner with a need in the particular unit, especially in visual impairment.
2. Conducting assessment on the learner and their immediate area of need.
3. Coming up with an Individualized education plan (IEP) in collaboration with the IEP team.
4. Teaching the learner how to read and transcribe braille symbols.

April 25th to July 1st, 2022. Teacher student at THE KARIOBANGI NORTH GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL. 

Activities and responsibilities.

1. Effectively teach History and Kiswahili lessons as scheduled.
2. Be in charge of the social activities for my students.
3. Assisting in organizing and training students for the inter-classes drama and modeling.
