About Nangkeng Marita:
I am a gender Expert with at least four years of experience in development contexts and 4.5 years in emergency contexts. I and a women's and girls'rights rights activist with advocacy skills to challenge norms, practices and attitudes that exacerbated the prevalence of Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies and development contexts. I currently serve with the WHO as a Training Officer, supporting trainings in 10 East African Countries.
Nangkeng Ndungla Marita is a Cameroonian Gender Activist, and holds a BSc holder in Women and Gender Studies and second major in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Buea.
she's served with Plan International as a GBV Officer, with LUKMEF as a project coordination, GBV case manager, and a social worker.
She is a regular face on most television station, and has a recognized voice on most radio stations all in Cameroon, where she is known for advocacy for her advocacy for the rights of women and girls. She is a blogger. She as well runs the Facebook page Empowering the African Woman. She longs to see a world where men and women have equal rights, hence creating a safe space for women and girls in Cameroon and beyond. She has facilitated many trainings with stake holders in line with Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response in six regions of Cameroon, within the framework of the United Nations Trust Fund project aimed at Building Community Level Agenda on ending violence against women and girls. In addition to this, she has implemented humanitarian projects funded by; the United Nation Population Fund, Care International, United Nations Women, and GIZ.Nangkeng for the past two years has as well been the coordinator of the Gender Club in the American corner of the University of Buea, in Cameroon. Marita is a passionate and dynamic young lady, who seeks to advocate for the rights of women and girls on different platforms or spaces where she finds herself. All these in an attempt to restore the dignity of women and girls in conflict and non conflic affected areas in Cameroon.
