Michelle Sum

I'm a friendly, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual. I have experience in the areas of customer service and Human Resource Management. 

I'm a self-motivated, highly organized individual who enjoys the challenge of being a part of a large team. I am able to adapt quickly to new environments, and I thrive when faced with new tasks and responsibilities. My greatest strength is my ability to communicate effectively with others.

I am a person who is driven to succeed, and I believe that the best way to achieve that goal is to learn from the best. I have always had a passion for learning new things, whether it be through reading or through experience.

In my free time, I like to read books that are written by authors who have achieved great success in their respective fields. I look at them as role models who can teach me how to become successful in my own field.

I have been working as a salesperson for the past 2 months at Motorshop ltd. In this role, I was responsible for selling car products and spare parts to clients. In this position, I gained extensive experience working directly with customers in person and through email. I also gained experience with third-party logistics providers and contract manufacturers to ensure that orders were delivered on time and without error. I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals, and I believe that everyone can benefit from a closer look at the products they use every day.

I have worked in the HR department at the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban, Development and Public Works  for 3 months. I have been responsible for managing the hiring process and interview process. In addition, I have managed and supervised the performance review process for our employees. I have been involved in processing categories of leave forms, transfer letters, promotion letters and confirmation in appointment and maintaining pension claims. In my experience, I have learned that the HR department is often tasked with ensuring that every employee is treated with respect and dignity, which can be challenging when employees are on different teams or at different levels within an organization. 

I am a recent graduate from Africa Nazarene University where I majored in Bachelor of Commerce, with a concentration in Human Resource Management. I have been working on my own research project for the past year, which is focused on how to improve the health and safety of employees in organizations in order to increase their job performance.

In addition to my academic accomplishments, I have also participated in many extracurricular activities at Africa Nazarene University. When not studying or working, you can find me playing table tennis or playing pool, or watching movies with friends on campus.
