I currently teach physical education, Swimming and Mathematics at Woodcreek International School. Teaching at an international school has helped set a knowledge base of system matters safeguarding, methodologies of teaching and learning as well as promoting the welfare of the children.

I love teaching through the inquiry process and engaging students in meaningful conversations. Creativity and innovation is key in my classes as I encourage students to be independent and think critically as they explore and learn. My mode of teaching is learner centered.

I believe that learning is a lifelong process and my objective is to bring up adults who are responsible and depend on themselves, which I drive in students through my lessons, giving challenging tasks to allow them to think away from the norm,assign them responsibilities, enabling them to reach their utmost potential.

I have worked with children of all ages from Kindergarten to A- levels. I have worked closely with children from age 2 to 13 years and have learnt through experience and training child psychology on physical and mental development, their needs and difference in growth milestones. I therefore help them deal with personal challenges and changes they go through to come out confident and holistic individuals.

I have undergone various workshops, peer training just to update on my coaching skills such as coaching certificates in Netball, basketball, Rounders, girls soccer as well as Games Children Play. I have also undertaken courses on child Protection and safety. I have also been certified in Occupational Health and safety. Therefore, I understand the Risks and hazards that might be a risk in a school and class setup.

I have also been part of the Extra and Co - curricular department that deals with planning and executing all extracurricular activities that helps students build other areas of their life in addition to academics. I have also played a critical role in the sports department in planning successful sports days, swimming galas and Inter - house sports competitions.

I also plan for holiday boot camps, fun activities for the young ones as well as conducting team-building activities for different events in school.

Attending fixtures meeting has helped me set a good working relationship with coaches from other schools, as well as planning for girls’ termly tournaments and friendlies.

Facility management is a skill I have learnt over the years, advising on how to take care of the grass, marking of fields and repair when required.

I have been in-charge of houses, meetings and inter-house matches and I help to bring all staff together in coordinating and organizing all internal events.

Working in a busy sports department has helped me perfect on planning for termly fixtures and fixing in the school calendar as well as organizing team lists, food and transport to attending friendly matches and tournaments.

I have worked with individual students in exploring their talents as well as conducting IGCSE PE exams.

In line with the healthy lifestyle in Physical education, I have been a patron of aerobics and dance clubs to help promote a healthy lifestyle.

I am willing to continuously learn and add on my knowledge and skills.
