I have one (2) year experience as a debt collector at Watu Africa, the role as a debt collector has helped me gain a deep understanding of content and development. While at Watu I carried out the following responsibilities: 

  • Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts
  • Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments
  • Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status
  • Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
  • Handle questions or complaints
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Create trust relationships with debtors when possible to avoid future issues
  • Update account status and database regularly
  • Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary

Kenya port Authority Jan 2019-March 2019

 I had my Internship rotation at Kenya Port Authority, CFS's and at the moi international airport, carried out the following responsibilities:

  • Inspected cargo, baggage, and personal articles being imported or exported, monitoring compliance with customs regulation.
  • Identified customs and immigration law violation and detained offenders in alignment with legal protocols.
  • Confirmation/verification of received shipment documents.
  • Advising on additional information /documents required.
  • Confirmation of invoices to ensure values tally with customs valuation for similar items.
  • Confirmation and advice on HS Codes to be used for IDF/ entries.
  • Ensure documents in files are correct and in order.
