About Maurice Lokwaliwa:

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering, which was conferred in the year 1999 from Egerton University Kenya. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management from the same university. I have also had post-graduate training in water resources management in Galilee International Management Institute, Israel.

I have over twenty years of experience in the field of water resources management, irrigation, soil and water conservation, and management of NGOs. My employment started in Kerio Valley Development Organization as an agricultural engineer where I worked for seven years rising to the position of Program Manager. Later, I joined World Vision Kenya as an Irrigation Engineer for a food security project. I was with World Vision Kenya for six and half years and left when I attained the position of senior program manager.

I then joined the County Government of Trans Nzoia as a County Executive in charge of Water, Environment, and Natural Resources, a position I held for slightly over six years.

I am currently serving as the Program and Sponsorship Coordinator, a position I have held for two years.

I am a result-oriented person who wishes to work with the communities to see transformation in the field of water, environment, food security, and livelihood.

Experience

My work experience of over twenty years has been in the fields of soil and water resources development and conservation, irrigation management, child sponsorship, and NGO management. I have worked as an agricultural engineer where I designed and oversaw the construction of soil and water conservation structures, managed a sprinkler irrigation scheme for farmers, and designed and supervised the installation of small pump-fed irrigation schemes.

While working with the County Government of Trans Nzoia, I oversaw the establishment of small gravity water supply schemes for communities and the drilling and solarisation of boreholes.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering, conferred in August 1999 at Egerton University, Kenya. I am working on my research for my Master of Science degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management at the same university.

I attended a two weeks training on Water Resources Management at Galille Internation Management Institute.
