About Maureen Chege:

A self-motivated civil engineer that places high value on quality and integrity and has a passion for sustainable development. Collaborative team player with a learning orientation. Easily adaptable to new environments.

Experience

As an engineer, the professional experience involved providing consultancy services to conduct a technical and performance audit on KURA levy-funded programmes. The project tasks included preparing an inception report and a work plan, assessing road project contract documents and project files, conducting site visits to verify quality of approved works, carrying out non-destructive tests on concrete works, taking on-site photos, quantifying poor quality works, and ultimately preparing a comprehensive report on the audit findings for individual projects. The aim of the consultancy was to ensure that the expected works quality and specifications were being followed, and to identify any poor quality works that needed to be addressed.

Education

As part of my academic undergraduate  program in Bsc Civil Engineering, I conducted a feasibility study on an e-bicycle sharing system as a mode of urban transport in Kenya, specifically in Thika Town. This project required me to assess the potential benefits, feasibility, and sustainability of the proposed system, and provide recommendations for successful implementation. My education and project experience demonstrate my technical expertise in civil engineering and my ability to conduct research and analysis to solve complex problems.
