During my tenure at Gachiri Gathara & Associates, I held various responsibilities and successfully contributed to the financial management and reporting processes. My roles included:

Fixed Asset Register Management: I maintained and updated the fixed asset register, ensuring that it contained accurate and current records.

Variance Investigation: I investigated reporting variances, identified their root causes, and escalated issues as needed to facilitate resolution.

Finance Team Oversight: I oversaw payment processes conducted by the finance team, aligning them with cash flow forecasts.

External Audit Collaboration: I collaborated with external auditors to meet their requirements during audits, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Tax Compliance and Reporting: I was responsible for preparing and reviewing all tax returns and computations submitted to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and provided valuable advice to the Financial Manager. I also coordinated tax audits with KRA and effectively addressed tax variances or queries. Additionally, I managed the preparation and submission of quarterly tax estimates to KRA.

Payroll Management: I ensured efficient payroll processing by overseeing timely input submissions and review by the CEO.

Reconciliation: I prepared cashbook reconciliations, creditors/debtors aging/reconciliations, and reconciliations for balance sheet ledger accounts.
