Mariam Abdallah

I am a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management graduate from the University of Eldoret. I am a diversity champion passionate about environmental conservation, with good interpersonal and communication skills. I have the ability of working well in a team environment as both a team player and team leader .I can perform assigned tasks professionally and can also deliver on individual projects with minimal supervision.  With my five years experience in the field while still in the university working on projects, at KEFRI and recently at the university of Nairobi as a technologist, I have obtained  skills in Project management, Project monitoring and evaluation (M&E), Soil analysis, Forest protection, Project implementation, Agriculture and natural resources Management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Conducting soil chemical and physical analysis.
• Preparing and handling samples, reagents, and equipment
• Calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment
• Recording and reporting test results
• Ensuring quality control and safety standards are met
• Collaborating with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals
• Managing inventory and ordering supplies
• Staying updated on new laboratory techniques and technologies
• Performing administrative duties such as maintaining records and preparing reports

• Conducted laboratory tests to determine seed weight, moisture content, and germination capacity
• Planted seeds in different media to assess viability
• Prepared seedbed, potted, pricked out, watered and weeded seedlings
• propagated osyris lanceolata through marcotting and preparing cuttings.
• planted East African camphor seedlings
• Took measurements of tree height, diameter, and calculated tree volume
• Extracted nematodes from soil using sieving techniques
• Conducted field visits and collected samples for research purposes
