Margaret Wanjah

I am currently working as a volunteer caregiver in poor and needy families in my village. My main duty is to train the affected family members on how to care for their patients/care receivers since such families cannot afford to pay for professional nurse aide services. Such training takes days sometime weeks, depending on the care-receiver's condition.

I have in the past worked as Communication Liaison intern at Unbound Kenya, an NGO that deals with children, women and the elderly. my duties involved writing reports of the beneficiaries and their progress, compiling stories about beneficiaries, training women beneficiaries on different income generating projects, writing stories for the organization’s magazine, updating the donors about the well being of the beneficiaries.

I am a trained journalist alongside being a trained Caregiver/Nurse Aide. The journalism training has enhanced my communication skills and eloquence in that I can boldly address a crowd and deliver accordingly. On the other hand, my Caregiving course has given me a platform to train many family members on how to care for their loved ones who are either sick, old and non ambulatory.
