About Margaret Kimanthi:
I am an educator holding a Master’s Degree in Education in Measurement and Evaluation. Additionally, I have a teaching qualification from the University of Nairobi (PGDE) in English Language and Literature and Kiswahili and a Bachelor of Art In Sociology and Kiswahili. I have been teaching in international schools since 2005. However, since 2008, I have been teaching abroad in Bahrain, Tanzania, Japan, India and Russia. In 2017, I took three years off to study Fashion and Design in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and would be happy to offer this as an extracurricular activity. These sabbatical years have given me more time and opportunity to raise Anna, my three-year-old daughter, and spent quality time with my son who has completed his MYP at International School of the Hague. I am currently teaching English Language and Literature in middle school. I have trained in the IBMYP Programme English Language and Literature (CAT. 1).
Experience
I have experience in a variety of academic settings; from primary to secondary levels, in national and international programs. In my teaching career, I have taught English in the Kingdom of Bahrain based on a mix of both British and American Curriculum, English and Sociology in a CIE international school in Tanzania (KS3-KS5), English Language and Literature in Tokyo, Japan, India (Cambridge Lower Secondary) and now Russia (MYP English Language and Literature). I have therefore developed considerable knowledge and experience in these subjects.
Education
I have a Master of Education in Measurement and Evaluation.
