About mak eve:

I am a graduate with a four-year degree from Kenya Methodist University in Business Administration – Office Management option. I hold a college Diploma in Secretarial Studies with the major course subjects being Typewriting 50wpm, Shorthand 100wpm, Office Administration and Management, Public and Human Relations, Research and Trade Projects, Word Processing and Business English III. I believe the combination of my education and prior work experience of over 10 years gives me an excellent chance to accomplish the organization goals.

I have excellent oral and written communications skills that make it easy to keep all functions within the department running smoothly and efficiently. I have the skills needed to ensure daily administrative tasks are being performed proficiently and the knowledge of running the office.

I have experience working with my colleagues, vendors, clients and investors along with each department in the company to coordinate and carry out multiple projects from beginning to end. I thrive under pressure and have the ability to work fast, while maintaining a professional, friendly mind-set.

Experience

 

  • Maintained the Dean’s calendar, advised and prepared her for upcoming commitments by making appointments, receiving and placing phone calls, sending and receiving E-mails and Faxes and arranged for meetings. 
  • Established and maintained close working relationships with the administrative counterparts in other technical and support offices to coordinate activities, shared knowledge, and devised innovative solutions to improve office and the University business practices.
  • Assisted in procurement actions by maintaining supplies inventory, anticipating needed supplies, and ensured that the Faculty staff are well-supplied with expendable office materials
  • Ensured that all Office equipment and peripheries were well-maintained and in good working condition and requested maintenance and/or replacements as necessary.
  • Arranged, organized and planned for Faculty staff meetings and other, regular and ad hoc meetings as required, took minutes and maintained record of all meeting minutes.
  • Maintained control of all correspondence for the office, by receiving and distributing official mail and correspondence while ensuring timely delivery of all outgoing mail thereof making sure that there was integrity of office records, documents, confidential information and data. 
  • Managed Faculty’s training plan, scheduled annual performance evaluations and calendar of other cyclical and periodic reports like operational plan, performance plan/targets and work plans
  • Managed official documents and files related to development of programs, personnel, students and administrative issues, along with other logistical and support matters. Maintained files according to set standards while marking correspondence and other documents for filing, and filed them accordingly.   
  • Reviewed all correspondence in advance of the supervisor’s signature, corrected errors and edited correspondence, and ensured that documents met the requirements posed by incoming correspondence to which it pertains.
  • Took dictation, transcribed and typed from drafts, manuscripts, photocopied, scanned and sent faxes.
