I am a food production and quality assurance professional with over 10 years of experience in the industry. I have a strong background in managing food production operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and implementing quality control measures to ensure product quality and consistency. 

Throughout my career, I have successfully managed teams of production staff and quality assurance technicians, maintaining high standards of productivity, safety, and quality. I am highly knowledgeable in HACCP principles and have implemented and maintained HACCP-based food safety systems in multiple facilities. Additionally, I have experience in leading audits and inspections, as well as developing and implementing corrective action plans to address any non-conformances. 

My passion for food safety and quality, combined with my technical knowledge and leadership abilities, make me a valuable asset to any food production organization.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Post-Harvest Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where I focused on developing my skills in determining the chemical and biochemical components of food, identifying the food pathogens that affect food quality and safety and how to control them, understanding the nutritional value of different foods and how food components can be manipulated to improve health outcomes, learnt about food processing principles and technologies and how to package and preserve these foods, and how to enhance food quality and safety.

In addition to my coursework, I completed a project in the development of Macadamia nut butter and this gave me hands-on experience in product development, determining its nutritional content and analyzing the customer satisfaction requirements. I also completed an internship at Bidco Oil Refineries, where I worked with a team that refined crude palm oil. This experience gave me valuable insight in food processing and helped me enhance my collaborative skills.

Moreover, I am currently enrolled in a Lean six sigma Green belt training in order to enhance my skills to lead or support Lean Six Sigma projects, and to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve process improvement goals. I will also be able to analyze process data, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions using Lean Six Sigma principles and techniques.

Overall, my education in food science has equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to develop safe, nutritious, and high-quality food products, as well as to address the challenges facing the food industry, such as sustainability and food security.
