Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide training, capacity building and on the job-supervision/mentorship for nurses working in acute clinical areas.
- Ensure all activities are technically sound and of high quality, while adhering to WHO and evidence-based best practice.
- Reviewing the capacity of target health care facilities to appropriately manage and treat patients with COVID-19, including isolation and intensive care unit (ICU) capacity.
- Supporting the appropriate identification, screening and triage of patients to respective facilities, as well as supporting referral mechanism capacity

- Work with other team members to design and deliver training on appropriate acute and escalated care interventions (or redesign existing materials as appropriate) in line with WHO guidelines and National Strategy
- Work with UK EMT IPC nurse to ensure that IPC measures within the department(s) are strictly followed and any relevant training is conducted to improve upon this.
- Support national staff to ensure consistent care and provide assistance to maintain high standards of holistic life support, including advice related to patient care, medications and nutrition.
- Support staff to ensure critical COVID cases are stabilized and maintain physiological parameters
- Provide continued, high-quality nursing care and train staff to meet similar high standards of care
- Ensure all necessary tools and guidelines in relevant technical areas are available and effectively used
- Where appropriate and required support task shifting activities with the development of teaching/ training material and clinical support, supervision and mentorship
- Ensure that the national nursing staff adhere to protocols, policies and guidelines, as outlined by the MoH and WHO and are consistent with established best practices and global technical response standards
- Support the establishment of surveillance systems within the facility through daily data collection

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strengthen WHO Yemen country office in planning, delivery and monitoring of the COVID-19 response through expert coordination support to WHO IMS in-country
- Technical advice and support for the design, layout or re-purposing of health facilities to be used for isolation and treatment for COVID-19 cases.
