Keren Ruth Gitahi

Greetings! My name is Ruth Gitahi, I am a Kenyan citizen seeking an opportunity for employment as a pastry chef. I studied Hotel and Tourism Management and was awarded my diploma from the Presbyterian University of East Africa in the year 2015. Since then I have undertaken various training programs in baking and the pastry arts including a certificate course from Amari Baking Institute and an internship at Cake Courture both in Nairobi Kenya. I have worked at various levels of hotel kitchens. Including Milele Resort Nakuru, Mid Africa county Hotel Trans Nzoia, and Cake Couture Nairobi. I then ventured into sole proprietorship (Keren's Cakes and Pastries) for almost three years now, serving the residents of Nairobi city with quality baking, decoration and delivery services with an impressive, dare I say exemplary customer satisfaction rate.

Milele Resort Nakuru.                                      I was attached to Milele Resort Nakuru as part of the requirements to get my diploma for three months. I then proceeded to work there as intern pastry chef for one and a half years.                        January 2015 - August 2016

Mid Africa County Hotel Trans Nzoia.          I started my tenure in this hotel at the end of 2017. I served as the assistant pastry chef. Creating and rotating seasonal desserts for events. Prepared special desserts for the ala carte menu.

I was later promoted to pastry chef in the year 2018. I got the opportunity to train new interns and employees
