Kenneth Boro

My name is Kenneth Boro. I am 31 years old, having Bachelors’ degree in Information Sciences, Specialised in ICT and Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics. I have the following key competencies:

Experience leading Teams: 
• I currently have cumulative 10 years’ experience, with four being in senior management level, four as an officer and two as a volunteer, in Lwala Community Alliance, an international NGO, dealing with healthcare services. This has enabled me acquire skills in leading through effective and versatile leadership skills, mentoring and coaching of staff. My experience has involved line management and supervision of various calibres of staff that include technical and program teams. I also have direct interaction with government activities. My experience in line management has been both for staff on site as well as staff geographically located across the county. With these staff, I set performance targets, undertake on the job training, coach and undertake formal performance appraisals to enable them meet organizational objectives and personal continuous development goals.

Budgeting, Budget management,  and procurements:
• My role in financial management has been around budget development, management, and procurments, where I have been involved in preparing budgets from scratch, leading teams and providing technical assistance to develop, monitor budgets and undertake financial reporting for project specific budgets. I therefore have the practice and knowledge of developing, implementation and reporting on budgets that meet specifications. I am also a member of the procrument committee, where I give appropriate guidance to the team, and also participate in the sourcing of the right items for the institution.

Management: 
• I have a strong management experience with a thorough understanding of the project management cycle. Having been involved in the whole breadth of programming elements starting with assessments, I will be an asset to your organization in ensuring successful planning, implementation and monitoring of the authority projects that deliver outcomes and impact for the nation. I have the technical knowhow on how to develop work plans that require breaking down long term strategic goals to short term goals with very specific targets that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Government Relations and relationship Building 
• I have worked with different government officials at National, county and sub county levels to influence partnerships that have led to successful implementation of different projects involving partnerships with external government stakeholders.

Organization Representation: 
• I have represented the organization in different forums where I have been able to clearly articulate the organization’s mission and vision and share our work including engaging in conversations on possible collaboration opportunities.

My knowledge in different fields has been of great help in achieving the good work performance. I am also ready and willing to learn, and always fascinated to new challenges and ideas. I enjoy giving my best that propels me to working under minimal supervision.

Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics from JKUAT, graduated in 2020, Bachelors degree in Information Sciences, graduated in 2014, and currently pursuing Certified Purchasing and Supplies Professional at Kenya Institute of Supplies Management. I also have short courses in Safety training, Workplace fire safety course for fire marshals, First Aid, Occupational Safety and Health, Open MRS, Financial education for women and youth, Water sanitation and Hygiene, Guidance and Counselling.

Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics from JKUAT, graduated in 2020

Bachelors degree in Information Sciences (ICT), graduated in 2014 (A course that has been quite beneficial in using technology to conduct procurement activities, and stores management)
