  • Held an unsupervised position as the key contact person and company representative for the project with the capacity to act on behalf of the company on a majority of the construction engagements amongst the various stakeholders involved.
  • Minimised/eliminated cost and time overruns occasioned by defective works, through rigorous quality inspections during the entire project lifecycle.
  • Heightened construction efficiency and overall project quality by developing and implementing effective method statements, inspection plans and acceptance criteria for all performed works.

  • Inspecting and ratifying the quality of all ongoing works as well as issuing non-conformance reports and corrective action plans for defective works and consequently following up on project non-conformities to closure 
  • Conduct follow-ups on residents after unit occupation to have data on common complaints and close defects to inform decision making for upcoming projects.

  • Fully accountable for the management of notable construction projects including supervising/ inspecting works and providing guidance to project actors regarding cost, schedule, quality, safety and conformance to contract, drawings, details and specifications as well as mitigating project risks, budget constraints and time overruns
  • Led the development of departmental policies, manuals, charters and journals for the clerk of works department
  • Successfully developed a highly performing Construction Management team from a freshly graduated cohort of eight interns through the Cytonn Young Leaders Programme (CYLP) an intensive & competitive 12-week training programme that exposes fresh university talent to the office environment and culture

  • Interpreted and reviewed drawings, details, specifications, payment applications, valuations and other documents issued by consultants or the contractor to ensure sufficiency while raising, solving, and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Chaired site inspections as well as taking part in consultants’ design consultations, project budget meetings, company & Departmental meetings, and others as necessary
  • Ratifying on the quality of materials delivered to site including mode of storage, handling and usage.
  • Assess the feasibility, viability, risk and business potential of proposed technical innovations or proposed collaborations with other organizations
  • Proactively contributing to the preparation and implementation of the business plan, including securing Board approval jointly with the lead PM
  • Identifying and advising on possible project risks, constraints, delays, variations and other challenges experienced on site as well as escalating them to the relevant parties
  • Ensuring the mobilisation and allocation of labour, equipment and materials on site matches the job requirements
  • Liaising with the client, consultants and other projects actors by establishing and maintaining a clear line of communication amongst all concerned parties
  • Managing third party engagements for the project including relations with the project’s neighbourhood, potential home buyers, the media and regulatory bodies including NCA, NEMA, WARMA etc.
