Experience

Business Development• andgo media • January 2020 – Present

andgo Media is a digital media production company that produces digital, consumable content for brands and SMEs in form of photography, video, audio and written material. 

In addition to growing revenue streams for the company, I execute the following functions:

  • Planning and executing experiential activities where we would further cover event photography and videography for our clients.
  • Craft and steer the company’s creative strategy and direction, as well as manage the brand and appearance of the organization.
  • Sourcing clients for the company’s digital communications services such as photography, video production and live-streaming for corporate and social events. This grew the company’s revenue by over 63% since its inception.
  • Liaising with content creators to curate the best possible content for the magazine’s audiences to make it as appealing as it can be for brands, partners and collaborators.
  • Managing a diverse team of skilled videographers and photographers and producers, which sharpened my leadership and management skills.

Digital Marketing Executive • Beverage Threesixty Ltd • August 2019 – June 2020

Beverage ThreeSixty is the appointed Nestle Kenya business service partner. They distribute Nescafe coffee machines and products to outlets across Nairobi. I executed the following with them:

  • Created and executed a content strategy that drove up the brand’s awareness levels on social media by up to 57%.
  • Covered various events; from executive breakfast meetings to product samplings and exhibitions, to produce exceptional photography and video to further push the brand through exciting and relevant social media content.
  • Increased lead generation through Facebook ads that led to a much higher conversion rate by the sales team.
  • Built the design for the sister company website (Fresh n Direct) and led the company to a successful online launch through web and social media.

     

Digital Marketing Executive • Xpose Limited • August 2018 – May 2019

Xpose Limited is a live events company in East Africa. My responsibilities and accomplishments included:

  • Managing of the company’s digital assets i.e. social media accounts and the company website, where I was able to reposition the brand as exciting, innovative and out-of-the-box, and as a result, driving engagement and growth in numbers on our company pages.
  • Designing and executing brand promotion activities at social events where the company was part-sponsors, by working with brand ambassadors to drive on-ground engagement with members of the crowd to raise awareness of the company and the brand it portrays.
  • Revamping the company website to increase its visual appeal and enhance the user experience. This also required harvesting of the analytic data using the same to make effective decisions to our social media strategy.
  • Creating and managing a strategy geared towards growing the social media accounts and increasing social presence through a well-crafted and executed social media strategy.
  • Photography and video production for various events as well as post production (i.e. editing, captioning) to make for more visually appetizing content.

Operations Executive • Medios Limited • November 2015 – November 2017

Medios is a social media and influencer-first marketing agency in Nairobi and some of my roles and achievements were:

  • Created influencer campaign strategies for brands such as Big Square, BBQ Live, Kenya Colour Run, and route-mapping their execution from start to successful completion, which saw each of them gain massive traction and increase in event attendance by 59% over the previous year, greatly achieving set objectives.
  • Created influencer marketing campaigns for Coca Cola and KCB, successfully executing the same with some of Kenya’s top social media personalities, delivering online engagement and meeting campaign targets.
  • Managing different social media campaigns while liaising between brands and social media personalities to ensure steady and successful execution of the campaigns. This included diligent observation of campaign guidelines and ensuring they were adhered to all through.
  • Overseeing campaign execution and delegating duties to team members, as well as providing efficient campaign oversight such as challenges and strategies, to ensure a smooth execution.
  • Copywriting headlines and captions that would be used in marketing proposals and on client pages as well as on corresponding graphics.
