Kariuki Joseph

I amJoseph Kuria Kariuki, a graduate of Ndejje University Kampala, Uganda . I took up salesmanship as a career after majoring in economics and trade policy. I am currently a resident of Nairobi, together with my spouse and two children. I am also a God fearing man.

I have high ability and passion to convince and close sales within a short period of time. I believe in giving excellent customer service through my ability to solve their problems and effectively communicating to them.

My experience in sales has helped me to acquire good negotiation skills, proper prospecting and a key sense of business acumen.

I believe in leaving no stone unturned and that I can’t climb the ladder of success with my hand in my pockets. I also believe that most things are always impossible to do until someone does it.

Salesmanship has always been my passion since I finished my high school education. I started as Candy salesman in Nairobi then as a wholesaler of KAISUGU tea, then as a sales representative at Pioneer Insurance Company in Nakuru and eventually ending up as business development officer at Juhudi  Kilimo Ltd in Litein,Kericho Branch .which pertained disbursements of loans and collection of arrears. At this I was able to maintain a disbursement of up to 3M a month while maintaining a portfolio at risk of less than 2 %.

In addition, am a certified vehicle driver of more than five years’ experience, I can driver with easy in major towns like Nairobi, Mombasa, even Kampala and Arusha Tanzania.

WORK EXPERIENCE  

Sales Person a Private Business 

Jan 2018 – Apr 2023;I have been able to grow a capital of less than ksh.100000 to more than ksh.2000000 in a span of 4 years but not without hardship that I overcame, some with ease and other with life threatening difficulties. This has taught me many skills most of which I wouldn't have learnt if it were not for this opportunity. I believe now am able to take up as many challenges as may come my way. 

Business Development Officer Juhudi Kilimo Ltd.

Jan 2014 – Dec 2017, I worked as a business development officer(BDO) at Juhudi Kilimo Ltd in Litein,Kericho Branch, this work  pertained disbursements of loans and collection of arrears. As a BDO I was able to maintain a disbursement of up to 3M a month while maintaining a portfolio at risk of less than 2 %. 

Sales Representative Pioneer Insurance 

Jan 2013 – Nov 2013; I worked as a sale representative at pioneer insurance company in Nakuru city, thereby gaining negotiation skill, interpersonal skills and sales closing tactics among many others skills.
