My name is Kalume Thuva and I am a recent graduate of Economics from the University of Nairobi. During my time at university, I gained valuable knowledge and skills in areas such as micro and macroeconomics, econometrics, statistics, and financial management.
As part of my academic journey, I had the opportunity to undertake an attachment at the Kenya Revenue Authority in CFS Operations under the C&BC Department. This experience gave me practical exposure to tax policies and regulations, customs procedures, and international trade.
Currently, I am an intern at the Kenya Revenue Authority, where I am working under the Domestic Taxes department. In this role, I am responsible for assisting in tax assessments, tax returns, and revenue collection. I am also involved in conducting research and analysis on tax-related issues and assisting in the development of policies and strategies aimed at improving revenue collection.
Overall, my academic background and professional experience have equipped me with a strong understanding of economic concepts and taxation systems, and I am committed to leveraging this knowledge to make meaningful contributions to any organization I work with. Through this experience, I learned the importance of collaboration, communication, and attention to detail in achieving successful outcomes in a team environment. I also honed my analytical and problem-solving skills, which I believe will be valuable in any professional setting.
