About Joy Monalisa:
I am an alumni of Kenyatta university, set to graduate in December during the school's 53rd graduation ceremony. I minored in gender studies, which I am very passionate about and intrigued by its day-to-day applications in general life. I also am a part time continuing student at college of human resource management, pursuing a diploma in human resource management. I am outgoing and equipped with good English that allows me to connect with clients and understand their needs. I am currently on an attachment program at Kenya Electricity Generating company at the human resource department. I have learnt a lot by being here just a few weeks and i have already picked up many skills. I am open to new opportunities and i look forward to hearing back from you.

Education
My most relevant education was my degree in sociology and gender studies. I appreciate that i was able to learn and indulge in a specific field of interest to me. Sociology’s subject matter is diverse, ranging from crime to religion, from the family to the state, from the divisions of race and social class to the shared beliefs of a common culture, and from social stability to radical change in whole societies. It also studies each unit in society, how they are formed, their different ways of relating to and existing with one another. All this information contributes to the comprehension of social patters of change. The gender studies aspect of it is interesting as well because gender is embedded so thoroughly in our institutions, our actions, our beliefs, and our desires, that it appears to us to be completely natural. As scholars, though, it is our job to look beyond what appears to be common sense to find not simply what truth might be behind it, but how it came to be common sense. This unit has allowed me to critically study and understand how men, women, girls and boys experience life, how it affects them and the society around them and the redress measures that can be implicated to allow both genders to maximize the utilities, opportunities and resources around them. This Knowledge and passion, combined with human resource management allows me to work well with others as well as manage projects.
