JOSPHAT GOGANI

My name is Josphat Gogani, a long serving teacher of special education, and a teacher of chemistry  and physics. I have done general classroom teaching for special needs children, their assessment,  and high school teaching. 

I am a hard working teacher and have been in classroom teaching for close to over ten years. I have worked in various institutions including regular and special institutions as a teacher, team  leader, programs coordinator and deputy principal, academics. 

I have taught physics and chemistry to commendable levels of success, from 1 to 4 making the two  subjects admired and liked by both boys and girls. I have applied and still embrace a practical and  learner centered approach to learning, making learners owners of the knowledge, hence making  them love to learn. I am mature and have great passion for children and teenagers. I have also  taught mathematics and sciences in a British curriculum school to grade 11. I hold a diploma in special needs education. I have also attended various workshops and seminars  relating to child care and education, including SMASSE.  

I am also trained with a Bachelor of Education, Special needs specialized.  I am capable and have the ability to handle the dynamism surrounding children and students and  their educational affairs. I do psycho-educational assessments and evaluation, write reports and recommend appropriate accommodations and placements for students with learning challenges. Preparing and implementing Individual Education Learning Programs has been part of my role for the past years .

I am currently working as a consultant in special needs education as well as learning support coordinator at Nairobi Waldorf School.

I have in the past prepared candidates with special needs for examinations in Physics and chemistry at   International primary and lower Secondary Curriculum (iPLSC), and IGCSE in science and  mathematics as well as at KCSE, with excellent results. Children with learning difficulties have had successful entry  into Grade 6, and Grade 11 IGCSE examinations. 

I was successfully a Programs Coordinator at Compassion International, director of Studies at Ivola  secondary school, a Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at The Grangeville School, and a  deputy principal in the same school before joining Nairobi Waldorf School Trust as Learning  Support coordinator. 

With these attributes, I am confidently in a good position to take the challenge of being the Head  teacher of your institution, and lead a dynamic team to excellent levels of the school.
