About JOSEPH NGARU:
Motivated Programme Management officer with over 7-years’ experience in planning, implementing and delivering objectives of livelihoods, education, HIV/AIDS, agriculture, health and nutrition programmes. Expertly utilises communication and leadership skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and motivate teams to achieve optimum results.
Experience
I am highly skilled in hands-on work experience volunteering in the Kenya Red Cross Society since 2008, Don Bosco, a project for children in need and Beacon of Hope as an intern dealing with OVCs and their caretakers, Mukuru Slums development projects as a TOT intern in community conversations and a community engagement officer at Daraja Civic Initiatives Forum in an Urban Slum Education Programme (Wasichana Wote Wasome Programme), where I have been able to gain real insight into working in a social development office with the community health from the local to the county level. I have been a program manager at Youth Development Forum (CBO) managing a USAID- PEPFAR funded program (NILINDE) that works with OVCs infected or affected by HIV/AIDs in Kibera and coordinated 10 staff and 83 Community Health Volunteer’s in the program. I had also been assigned as a program manager at Naomi’s Village children’s home an American organization in Maai Mahiu where I headed a Mother toddler one to one program that works with pregnant mothers from poor backgrounds to ensure they give birth to healthy children who later join a school and can access quality education. My last employment was a program manager at Feeding Futures in Nakuru County for a feeding program that builds kitchens in public schools and equips farmers with the skills to grow food to support the kitchen.

I have a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in community Development; I graduated with a second class honors upper division. I also have a Diploma in Community Development and Social Work
