I have been working at Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarkets Ltd (Carrefour), in the CCO department, under different roles; a Cashier, a Customer care officer, and finally a CCO Supervisor whose role has had a host of experiences, acquisition of knowledge as well as being daily shaped-up for growth and transitions such as this. Some of the knowledge acquired and skills learnt include; levels of customer satisfaction and accuracy of service, good with money as is required in the CCO and good with people, demonstration of the pleasantness, reliability, and a positive image of the company, creation of a good impression to customers as we are in direct contact and interaction with them, levels of customer service and integrity, product awareness, upholding a positive attitude in the workplace regardless of the prevailing occurrences, efficiency of service, levels of problem solving abilities, knowledge of my inventory, sharing some experience of a product and being able to help customers make the best choices for them, making informed recommendations, levels of sharing customer importance and projecting that, friendliness and a helpful attitude to everyone, always being positive, identifying solutions and resolving customers’ issues to their satisfaction, always striving to be better each day all round, improvement of the listening abilities required by customers for their specific need. As a supervisor am most proud of managing a successful administrative team for two years. I oversaw a team of sixty employees in an office setting; in the department I served at the Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarkets Limited (Carrefour's Central Cashiers Office). My team worked tirelessly to ensure that the front office ran smoothly, and it showed in our company's overall productivity and daily sales turn-over generation as well as the improvement of the teams' individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

As a customer care and experience officer I was charged with designing, orchestrating, and improving customer experiences across all customer touchpoints within the Carrefour store; including sales, customer service, social media, billing, technical support, contact centers, and face-to-face.

And as a cashier I managed transactions with customers using cash registers, scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate, collect payments whether in cash or credit, issue receipts, change or tickets, redeem stamps and coupons, cross-sell products and introduce new ones.

Bachelor of Commerce Finance is an undergraduate commerce course. The duration of the course is 3 years (Full time /Part time), divided into six semesters. The subjects majorly included in the course are principles of financial planning, economic theory, micro & macroeconomics, money and banking system, trade and its characteristics. It helps one launch into the market with a sound understanding of the finance services industry. Bachelor of Commerce opens up careers in accounting, business, economics, finance, management, marketing and as an actuary, with some accreditations. Finance is a competitive program in which you acquire the skills to manage money and practise making decisions that affect the future of corporations. Commerce and Finance is a great combination and a great option if you have a passion for both areas and want to keep your career options open. Having lerned a host of disciplines within the course, mybest areas of study were organizational leardership as well as organizational behaviour.
