John Bulimo

My name is John Kidake Bulimo, am a Kenyan aged 43 years old. I come from Lugari Sub county of Kakamega County, Western Kenya. I am a   first born in a family of seven, am married and God has blessed me with four children one son and three daughters.

 I went to Angayu Primary School, and sat for my KCPE in 1993, joined Lubinu High School in 1994 and sat for my KCSE in the year 1998. Worked in a supermarket for three years and latter joined Friends Theological College -Kaimosi in the year 2002 and I graduated with a diploma in  Theology, in the year 2005. I joined KAG University ( EAST Campus) in the year 2006 where I pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible and theology and i graduated in the year 2008, I latter joined the Africa Nazarene University in the year 2017 to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation and I graduated in the year 2018 with  a credit pass.  

I have worked in several places and institutions, first I worked as a program officer for five years at the Friends Children Development Initiative (FCDI) from 2005 to 2009, where my key responsibilities included general administration, planning, budgeting, implementation of different projects, I supervised three staff, i was in charge of a feeding program, School placement, I did fundraising for the organization, dd career talks to children in colleges, mentorship program, counseling , and i did strategic linkages to other organizations such as NACC, UNHCR, and oversees organizations.

I was contracted by the  United Nations Development Program (UNPD) for two years 2007-2008 after the post elections in Kenya to resettle the internally displaced persons (IDPS) where i did mediation between the two communities ie the Kalenjins and the Kikuyus. Latte on I served as a Pastor/ Administrator at he Friends International Center of Nairobi Yearly Meeting from 2008 to 2021 March where I left to concentrate on consultancy services. 

I have done several consultancies :- at World Vision Kenya ( DO NO HARM) March to June 2018 in Kakuma- Turkana, Friends World Committee for Consultation/ American Friends Service Committee , where i conducted an early warming system for Turbo, Soy and Ngenyelel Location in the year 2021 April and finally, i conducted an end term evaluation for Free Pentecostal Fellowship of Kenya - Narok Peace Project with a consultancy firm called Upward Bound Company Limited this year from August to October.

 I have done several short courses for example :- Alternatives to Violence Project, Public Health and sanitation, HIV/AIDS protocol, Disaster management, Do No Harm, Mediation, Wealth creation, Peace and conflict resolution, Healing and Rebuilding of Communities, and Trauma Healing.

I have traveled to several countries eg Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC Congo, Slovenia and the United States of America.

Previously i have served as a board member at the Friends Ngong Road Schools, Member of board at the Joram Jitau Providence Home, Served on the advisory board of Change Agents For Peace Internatinal ( CAPI) Served as the Chairman Quaker Peace Network East Africa for three years, and finally served as the Chairman Love in the name of Christ (LOVEINC) Ngong road zone for seven years 2011-2017. 

My strength are a good communicator, time manager, hard working, innovative, a good trainer, a good mobilizer, a team player, motivational speaker, project planning, costing, budgeting,and decision making.i have excellent skills  in coaching, am proactive, result oriented,  cultural sensitivity, service oriented, effective data collection, analyzing and report writing. i am an active listener, i pay attention to details and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities.

My Hobbies are making new friends, travelling and reading newspapers.
