PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION INTERN AT NYERI COUNTY DISABILITY OFFICE FROM OCTOBER 2019 TO DECEMBER 2020.
RESPONSIBILIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Administering fund application forms and targeting tools for beneficiaries of grants and cash transfer programs. During my contract period, 250 students with disabilities from all levels of learning benefited from bursaries and scholarship and which was a 150% increase from the previous year.
- Participating in targeting community validation and enrollment of beneficiaries under PWSD-CT and administer the application process for education assistance, assistive devices, economic empowerment and infrastructure and equipment.
- Conducting registration of persons with disabilities. Throughout the year, I was in a position to register over 1200 Persons with Disabilities and issue them disability cards.
- Call for and vet applications for education assistance, economic empowerment grants, tools of trade, infrastructure, equipment grants, assistive devices, and submit the proposed beneficiaries to the headquarter.
- Provide sunscreen lotions, cancer screening and treatment services, protective clothing and sensitization of self-care to persons with albinism. During my period, 100 Persons with Albinism turned out per month for the lotions, an increase from the previous turnout of 50.
- Train economic empowerment beneficiary groups on entrepreneurship. During my one year contract, 12 groups benefited from the funds as compared to the previous 6 groups in the previous financial year.
- Assisting the local communities and self-help groups to identify viable projects.
- Conflict resolutions among group members disaggregate data on gender, disability and age.
- Create awareness on disability programs and services offered by the council.
- Facilitate persons with disabilities access tax exemptions, licenses, and employment services extension recommendation.
- Link Persons with Disabilities and Disability Persons Organizations with other development partners.
- Organize National council on Disability at the county level.

2022-Excel Institute of Professionals-Certified Public Accountants Foundation Level.
2014-2018: Egerton University-Bachelor of Arts Economics and Sociology and attained Second Upper Class Honor division. While undertaking the program, I gained skills in mathematical and statistical analysis, Research and Economic theory and hence in a position to provide solutions to the social-economic problems affecting the society.
2010-2013: Gaichanjiru High School and scored an overall grade B+ of 67 points. In 2012, I was picked to represent the school in annual mathematics contest that was held at Bishop Gatimu, Ngandu Girls School.
