Irene Onyango

My name is Irene Onyango. I'm a kindergarten teacher with an experience of eight years. For me, my work is not just a job, it's a calling. I see the role of kindergarten teacher as the most formative educator role in a child's school journey. It is during the early years that they are taught how to effectively integrate into the world of learning through social skills, personal hygiene, basic reading skills, art and music. 

Qualities such as patience and enthusiasm are important to me in developing my career and being the best educator I can be.

I have experience in teaching learners in kindergarten to decode words and become fluent readers. I have led classes as large as 25 learners and taught kids as young as 3 years old.

I did my ECDE certificate course for two years and I'm currently pursuing diploma in ECDE in Mount Kenya University.
