Ferdinand Maneno

First, I would say I am an enthusiast researcher. Even though I am a student of qualitative researcher, I have fallen in love in the varying nuances of research, such as mixed-methods approach. I am always willing to ensure that any methodology undertaken can yield expected results when subject to validity and reliability tests. As a student of Anthropology, I have delved much into key informant interviews and focus group discussions in the pursuit of experiences, knowledge, and motivation regarding why people prefer different brands over others.

As a researcher, I am always willing to learn and enhance my knowledge in the research domain. I have developed the thirst of seeking knowledge from different cultural backgrounds. In an example, this enthusiasm has pushed me to develop an excel sheet with advanced formulas on the diverse cuisines that I encounter in my research escapades.

In addition to field research, which I have contacted in all the 47 counties, I have also managed to enhance my desktop research skills as an area to complement what I gain from secondary research sources. I have not only conducted FGDs in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, but I have also worked towards empowering study participants in areas, such as Mombasa, Kakuma Refugee Camp, Wajir, and Mandera. As a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) expert, I have learned the significance of integrating various research methodologies as a way of expanding my knowledge base.
