Felix Otieno

I am a passionate and self driven programs development and management specialist with 20 years experience in the NGO sector. I have worked with grassroots youth and women led organizations in informal settlements and slums of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and project neighborhoods in New York City USA. Over the years I have gained vast knowledge and experience in project development cycle from project conceptualization, planning, implementation, Monitoring Evaluation & Learning. My current and previous work engagements have enabled me interact with various government departments/ministries and institutions both locally and internationally hence gaining vital know how of government workings and bureaucracies.  I am a firm believer in capacity building and empowerment of local and grassroots communities and organizations as change leaders and enablers. 

• 12 years experience in Project Management, Strategic communications and Public Affairs in both civil and humanitarian contexts for clients such as UNFCU Foundation, Ministry of Land, Housing and Urban Development, USAID Kenya, PSI Kenya, Film-Aid International, UNEP, IDEA, CARE Kenya, UN-HABITAT, Forum 43 Kenya and Kenya Youth Foundation.
• Extensive experience in Strategic Communications and Public Affairs, including organizational sustainability for multi-nationals in Kenya, coordinating multi-stakeholder working groups on women and youth empowerment, safety and security, slum upgrading and improvement, environmental management, intercultural engagement co-convened by the Ministry of Land, Housing and Urban Development in Kenya, UNHABITAT, British Council, UNFCU Foundation and UN WOMEN. 
• Proven expertise in Government relations, Donor liaison, Media and Communications, Public Relations, Partnerships building, Fundraising, Research and community engagement in grass-root and low-income communities.
