Social Worker
Kipchamgaa Children’s Home- Kericho - Feb 2018 - Dec 2020

As a Social Facilitator at Kipchamgaa Children’s Home (formerly, Kids Home International -
Kericho), I assessed the children’s psychological and social needs and addressed them accordingly
from enrollment to disengagement.
I also facilitated open, honest, and effective communication between the children and staff.
Furthermore, I liaised with members of staff from different departments and coordinated
collaboration with external organizations for the benefit of the children and caregivers. Given the nature and scope of my work, I interacted with community representatives giving due consideration to confidentiality to ensure self-sustainability in the child’s family home.
In my role, I maintained accurate records and provided periodical comprehensive verbal and written reports in an accurate and timely manner to the children’s department and the donors. I also enhanced and supervised the proper implementation of Child Protection Policies in the institution.
Another of my responsibilities was to follow up on children’s registration. I also accompanied them to court and performed home visits.
During events such as Open Days, I fostered Community Relations by getting involved in
initiatives to sensitize the community on the plight of OVCs and their role in improving the OVCs' welfare.
Last but not least, I prepared and maintained all the children's health records, school records, daily occurrences, financial receipts, and exit strategies.

Training Manager
Multimedia Education Consultants Limited- May 2016 - Dec 2016
As a Training Manager at Multimedia Education Consultants Limited, I chaired all Training
Management Committee (TMC) meetings under the directions of the Training Committee Board.
As part of my professional responsibility, I also managed the design, delivery, and evaluation of the training products. I also received, collected, validated, prepared, and compiled all reports from the training coordinators and field researchers.
I liaised with the research and materials development officer to design a customized training
curriculum based on the Training Needs Assessment (TNA) report. Moreover, I performed effective liaisons with the Education and Training Sales Team members as well as all the other members of the Material Development Team where necessary to ensure excellent end-to-end services for our
clients.

I maintained good financial controls by ensuring that field consultants are paid
promptly and accurately. Along these lines, I also ensured that training delivery costs are coded
accurately and in a way that facilitated the accurate management of organizational information.

Care Highway Children's Home - Jan 2013 - Feb 2016
In my role as a manager at Care Highway Children's Home, I followed up on all child protection cases with the Children’s Department and the Kenya Police. I also attended court proceedings as required.
I worked closely with the local administration and other stakeholders to protect the rights of the child and manage conflict in the community. Along these lines, I also provided professional support in the conceptualization and implementation of welfare social campaigns on Human Rights.
In my day-to-day responsibilities, I assessed the children’s psychological and social needs from

As a manager and a Social Facilitator, my main goal was to enhance and oversee the proper
implementation of the Child Protection Policy within the institution. I also followed up on
children’s registration and accompanied them to court as well as home visits.
I fostered healthy community relations through events such as open days and got involved in
initiatives to sensitize the community on the plight of OVCs and their role in improving the OVCs' welfare.
In my administrative capacity, I held staff meetings and took minutes. I made the
children's home’s monthly budget, I did the monthly shopping, paid the salaries, and accounted for all monies spent.
To ensure proper nutrition, I prepared a menu that has a balanced diet and ensured that the
caregivers upheld the standards I set.

For maximum operational efficiency, I prepared and maintained all the children's health records,
school records, daily occurrences, financial receipts, and exit strategies.
Overall, I ensured that the Care Highway Children's Home had a high-quality environment that met the individual needs of children from different cultures, religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
