Reporting to the Cooperative Officer with the State Department for Cooperatives, I act as a link between the board and stakeholders, provide updates on governance matters and assist in setting up of AGM’s with Sacco members.

  • Coordinating and chairing society meetings, disseminating information and fielding questions.
  • Identifying and coordinating investment opportunities of the Sacco in order to grow revenue.
  • Coordinating all administrative and financial activities of the Sacco.
  • Overseeing all personnel appointments and duties of individuals at the Sacco.
  • Facilitating decision making by building consensus and developing solutions.
  • Compiling and analysing metrics for detailed reporting and informed planning.
  • Directing and leading the society in setting goals and strategies.
  • Ensuring that all member complaints are captured, recorded and resolved in the shortest possible time for satisfaction of Sacco activities.

Achievements

  • Was able to successfully coordinate the opening of the Sacco in 2020 and currently have seen enrolment grow to more than 110 members.
  • Successfully guided the Sacco in money markets investments that has significantly increased the Sacco’s earnings.
  • Have successfully spearheaded the support of 5 children’s homes which is part of the Sacco’s corporate social responsibility mandate.
  • Under my guidance the Sacco has successfully guided 40 youthful members in finding gainful employment with government agencies like the K.D.F. and Kenya Police Service.

Grounds Maintenance Officer (Casual Worker), September 2020 – September 2022.

State House, Nairobi.

Reporting to the Supervisor, I am responsible for ensuring order and cleanliness of State House, offering office support when needed in order to guarantee proper order.

  • Handling the planting and maintenance of flower beds and grass, mowing the lawn, cleaning, gardening, maintenance of gardening tools and watering of plants.
  • Developing and maintaining courteous and effective working relationships.
  • Coordinating and planning activities to achieve results according to schedule.

Social Worker (Intern), August 2019 – March 2020.

National Spinal Injury Hospital, Nairobi.

Reporting to the Head of Social Work Department, I assisted in all matters relating to the day-to-day welfare of clients, conducted needs assessments and case studies of patients in the hospital.

  • Evaluated patients in need of economic and social intervention, individual counselling, group therapy, resettlement and follow ups.
  • Assisted social workers with medical records reviews to facilitate improved performance and quality assurance.
  • Guided and explained medical care options to help families make informed healthcare decisions.
  • Offered community resource guidance to clients to meet family needs for assistance.
  • Assessed cognitive abilities, physical and emotional needs of clients to determine appropriate interventions.

Gertrude's Children Hospital, Nairobi.

Reporting to the Head of the Social Work Department, I worked with marginalised and excluded people to counsel and support them in enhancing their quality of life.

  • Supported and volunteered at the hospital's CCC [Comprehensive Care Centre] sunshine clinic for a period of 3 months.
  • Assisted in assessing clients in need of waiving off fees, counselling and follow up on adherence to antiretroviral drugs.
  • Developed strong interpersonal communication skills to promote relationship building with people from across all walks of life.

Achievements

  • Participated in the successful commemoration of road safety week- May 2019 in-collaboration with the United Nations and Makini School.
  • Worked at Gertrude's outreach clinic at Githogoro gaining valuable experience in tolerance, empathy, confidentiality and working under pressure with the under privileged, underserved communities.
