I worked at I&M Bank Ltd, Head office in the finance department as a financial accountant intern from February 2020 to December 2020. The following were my key responsibilities:

-Receipt cross-checking and acknowledging receipt of incoming and outgoing invoices.

-Reconciliation of creditor statements to the creditor ledger and following up on any unreconciled items with respective units.

-Reconciling general ledger accounts with subsidiary ledger accounts.

-Updating RiskCompliance self-assessment reports.

-Analysing financial statements from different banks(industry analysis).

-Preparation of daily foreign exchange exposure reports for submission to the Central Bank of Kenya.

-Reviewing lease agreements for the bank’s Head office, branches, and ATMs.

-Booking fixed assets, asset tagging, and running of depreciation.

-Aiding in the preparation of monthly financial reports.

-Aiding in the filing of the bank’s monthly tax returns.

-Maintaining proper and updated schedules for prepayments and ensuring timely amortization of expenses

I recently graduated from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology on 2nd December 2022 where I pursued a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in finance.

I have also pursued a professional course in CIFA( Certified Investment Financial Analyst) part 1.
