About Eunice Nyambura:
Dear Host Family,
My name is Eunice, a Certified Nursing Assistant/Health care assistant from Nairobi, Kenya and I am writing to express my interest in becoming a care giver.
My life as a caregiver started in the year 2018, the journey was not easy as I had to fit in my mothers shoes at a tender age. In the year 2018 upto June 2024 my mother had to travel abroad to work and so I was left behind to support myself and two sisters. As the first born child, I had to take care of all household activities, I also had to ensure that my siblings went to school, that they did their homework and inclusive of this I had to take my younger sister to the clinic. During this duration, I was living with my grandmother and life was not easy, at times she locked us out of the main house, at times we could miss meals or she could give us food on one plate to share (3 siblings); to make it worse she constructed a temporary iron sheet house and had us living within the compound but not in the main house. It is through this journey and more that I started taking care of my siblings and also ended up taking care of my ailing grandfather, this was in the year 2019 upto 2022.
Though I passed through these challenges and had to take care of my siblings, I put in effort and I was able to enroll for my CNA college course and I successfully completed it. When my mother returned, we were able to re-unite and we moved to our own place/home and I am still playing a key role in managing the household.
My desire to be a care giver arose from the deep empathy and respect for the young and elderly considering the journey that I passed through at a young age. I personally believe that I myself, or anyone no matter the age needs to be treated with dignity and comfort, and I am personally committed in providing a supportive and vibrant environment/household.
As my host, I am personally committed to the real-time opportunity of taking care of your household or loved one, whereby I will be able to assist with the daily activities, offer companionship, and as I do my best to tailor my care skills and ensure that the household or my client is comfortable and happy.
I like taking care of people, and you should consider me because I am a fast learner, reliable, responsible, able to take care of daily routines, I can prepare special meals, assist with personal care/hygiene, giving out medication and I have done first aid. All these skills and more I have learnt at a tender age, I've practiced as i grew up and I have harnessed the skills when I interned at St Teresa Hospital.
Thank you.
