About Esther Chessa:
A self-dedicated, motivated, and inspired clinician with a desire to broaden my skills and challenge myself with new experiences. Willing and eager to learn new skills and help assist the patients I come across. Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Experience
I have worked in a number of institutions and this has enabled me to acquire vast experience in the management of diseases. I was involved with providing clinical care and the management of non-communicable diseases within AMPATH research organization clinics (PIC4C Study), specifically Diabetes and Hypertension within Busia County. This was also accompanied by performing breast and cervical cancer screening and cryotherapy management on scheduled clinic days. I also provided mentorship to other Ministry Of Health staff during clinic days. I collected the various data required and submitted them to the server on a daily basis.
I have also worked with the BIGPIC study within AMPATH, where I was involved with the enrolment of study participants in various communities within Busia County. I was then involved in providing clinical care to the study participants who were patients with Diabetes and Hypertension in group medical visits conducted within the communities (in churches, or chiefs camps). I was involved in the collection of data and synching it on the server on a daily basis. I provided monthly reports and outlined the challenges faced at any point during the study period.
I have been able to gain experience working in a healthcare facility providing the primary level of care to patients at Freedom Medical Centre in Mombasa. I was involved with clerking, and the general management of patients. I performed procedures like stitching, cleaning and dressing of wounds, incision, and drainage, circumcision, wound debridement, and delivery. I also prepared a monthly report at the facility. I did provide HIV clinical care, adherence counseling, and follow-ups whenever need be.
