About EDWIN WANJA:
I possess inventory management skills in line with my previous role of an asset inventory clerk with the
international organization for migration (IOM). Further, I possess vast computer skills especially advanced excel
functionalities having worked in the finance industry for several years. Meanwhile, I gained knowledge of
Accounting and Finance procedures with vast experience in preparation of financial statements according to
the international financial reporting standards. In my previous role, my greatest achievement was my
involvement in the implementation of FRP, an automatic bank reconciliation module for the group subsidiaries
in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia. I was also actively involved in the preparation of the audit file in preparation
for our yearly audits conducted by Deloitte and Touche.
I possess knowledge of the banking industry and its procedures, as well as having the ability to meet deadlines,
and targets, think smart and act fast in delivering marketing strategies, customer services with demonstrated
success increasing revenue in support of business growth, defining customers service principles, implementing
tools, and providing support to ensure consistency. This has seen me rewarded by CO-OP Bank as the best
overall in Trade Finance in the 3rd quarter of 2017 – mainly due to exemplary leadership and dynamism in
providing quality service of the highest order and the efficiency to drive products’ competitive advantage for a
loan portfolio of over 100 million, with a portfolio at risk of below 2%.
I possess vast knowledge in SME and micro lending and excellent relationship skills and was able to maintain
a quality portfolio of Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) and micro business customers for the five years
at the bank. Through this, I was awarded as the best in recruitment of newly- funded accounts across the banks’
network in February 2014
Experience
I was previously working for the international organization for migration (IOM) as an asset inventory
clerk where my main role entails conducting an inventory count and update of all the assets at the
IOM offices in Lavington, MHAC, Gigiri, Eastleigh and YMCA (transit center).Previously, I worked
for Alios finance Kenya Ltd as a Financial Accountant where I was mainly tasked with Preparation of
the monthly cash flow forecast to capture funding needs, Preparation of annual and monthly cash
budgets, preparation of debtor’s invoices using SAGE X3 accounting system, daily posting of
customer receipts via cheques and direct transfers using SAGE X3 accounting system, conducting
bank reconciliations and preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial
statements. Additionally, I have worked with Co-op bank Bungoma as a business development officer
where my main duties included, SME financing, credit administration to ensure that the laid down
policies are adhered to. I was also tasked with the role of organizing meetings with our corporate and
Sacco customers to deliberate on financial solutions. Meanwhile, I have also worked as an accountant
and compliance officer for Zimele asset Management Company where I was tasked with preparation
of the company’s financial statements, Receive and process invoices, make payments and maintain all
the suppliers, customers and general ledger of the company using pastel accounting software.
