As a Communications Professional, my objective is to bring success to the company by building beneficial links through effective internal and external communications. Having been a Communications Officer for almost two years, I have been able to communicate successfully with different audiences: university students, customers, investors, suppliers, internet community, and the press among others. I am committed to deliver excellent content through as many communication channels as possible, and respond accordingly to the feedbacks received by the company. One of my objectives is to further my expertise in outsourcing and community building. I am confident I can do this best if I will be a part of a dynamic and innovative environment.

Lecturer (Africa International University, Karen) 2019 to present

Responsibilities:

• Teaching English language, Linguistics and Literature to undergraduate students
• Administering, invigilating, marking and moderating examinations at the university
• Developing content and curriculum for teaching English, Literature and Linguistics

Contracted Interpreter/Translator at International Organization for Migration (IOM-Kenya) 2017 to present.

Responsibilities:

• Offering interpretation services (English-Swahili) between IOM staff and refugees during cultural orientation sessions, resettlement selection interviews for USA, Canada, Norway, Netherlands and Australia, medical appointments and complaints reporting
• Assisting the organization in translating official documents mainly from English to Swahili

Part-time Interpreter with US Resettlement Support Center (RSC) Africa-Nairobi 2017 to date

Responsibilities:

• I help in interpretation between RSC staff and refugees during resettlement interviews for US bound refugees

Intern, Translators Without Borders (TWB) May-Aug 2018

Responsibilities:

• Translation and reviewing of documents from English to Kiswahili for humanitarian aid.
• Translation of health information for WHO to counteract Ebola in DRC Congo
• Translation of documents on Children for Health information in Tanzania
