About Dennis Orina:

I am an experienced Learning and Development Professional with over 8 years of Professional Training experience. In the 8 years of my professional work, I have worked as a Lifeskills Trainer for 2 years, Lead Instructor in the sales industry for 2 years, and for 4 years as a Training & Quality Assurance professional. While doing Training and Quality Assurance I also added up as an Instructional Coach from which I got a chance to support trainers sharpen their skills and abilities to handle adult learners across different professions. 

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nairobi with a double Major in Literature, Geography & Environmental Studies. I am self-driven, detail-oriented, adaptive, and collaborative among other attributes that make me highly productive.

  • Evaluating the success of training implementation by assessing the achievement of learning objectives and transfer of knowledge to continuously improve training solutions and identify future learning needs.
  • Conducting training needs assessments for instructors by sending out surveys and analyzing instructor performance data
  • Developing and customizing training materials for use in quarterly refresher training.
  • Conducting session observations and providing feedback to instructors to ensure that they follow the overarching structure and flow of the Generation curriculum while delivering their sessions.
  • Providing support in ensuring quality screening of learners at centre level both physically and through data monitoring processes.
  • Facilitating continuous personalized coaching sessions with instructors to help them improve their delivery of the Generation methodology and instructional practice.
  • Providing relevant LMS administration support for Generation’s Canvas platform to facilitate the efficient running of online classes.
  • Delivering the online and in-person Instructor onboarding to prepare them for the successful implementation of Generation’s programs.
  • Providing guidance and support in updating the organizational data-driven model using GenData, Salesforce, Torsh-Talent and tracking learners’ attendance and performance daily and weekly.
  • Collecting and evaluating data before, during, and after onboarding and training to identify lessons learned and any additional suppoanalyzingfor trainers.
  • Documenting & analysing observation evidence to determine instructor strengths and areas of improvement & create plans toward professional development goals.

Roles

  • Mobilized and conducted screening of qualified participants in the respective programs leading to 100 percent graduation rate by end of cohort. 
  • Delivered and implemented client-focused curricula incorporating technical, behavioral and mindset skills that enabled participants to meet performance metrics. 
  • Conducted mentorship process by ensuring mentor onboarding, mentor and mentee matching that ensured smooth transitioning of our graduate to the job market. 
  • Coordinated job placements for our graduates through the Business Development department by ensuring shortlisting of qualified candidates as per the job requirements. 
  • Ensured timely and accurate data entry in our global Generation data system of students leading to correct analysis of the general impact of the programs to participants’ lives. 
  • Created and maintained partnerships with local communities, non-governmental institutions, and other government institutions. 
  • Identified risks and issues based on observations in the training centre and regular tracking of key performance indicators in the program database.
