Roles:

  • I ensure that there is proper waste management to avoid contamination of the pavement layers
  • I was involved in training and educating the community on the importance of the project and the reason  why they should collaborate
  • liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials. 
  • I ensure that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.
  • Organizing materials and ensuring sites are safe and clean
  • Attending site meetings and writing effective minutes.

Roles:

  • I helped in preparing preliminary construction cost estimates as part of engineering design feasibility reports, project budgets, and applications for project funding.
  • Reviewed and performed audits of construction documents for box culvert, civil site, and engineering designs.
  • I performed engineering design, field investigations, and estimating for sewer line improvement and construction.
  • Construction Supervision factual reporting of progress of works
  • I provided technical assistance to the Resident Engineer during the emergencyworks (Kasarani to Njiru, Nairobi river bridge).
  • Designed roadway construction project which included the preparation/design of construction plans, drainage control structures, and construction specifications

Achievement: Managed the Maintenance including instructed works of an 80 kms murram road from 

North horr town to Darathe AP camp (A4 road)

 

Roles:

 

  • I Supervised and oversaw the direction of the project, ensuring that the KENHA's specifications and requirements were met, reviewing progress, and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs
  • I coordinated and supervised 10 construction workers
  • I attended   meetings with Kenha   representing the  company

Location-         Gatukuyu to Mataara road project, Kiambu county

Period:             May 2017 to August 2018

 

 Roles:

  • I supervised sub-contracted staff mainly on the culvert laying section.
  • I made sure all the requisitions were well written, updated, and signed by the concerned persons.
  • I liaised with the consultant whenever a technical issue aroused and helped come up with evident solutions
  • Ensured that all the Kerra specifications and details were met
  • Writing reports and keeping on top of the paperwork

Position:             Soil lab attendant volunteer, Reynolds construction company, Employer KURA

Project Name:   Construction of Link Roads, Likoni Road.

Period:                May 2016 to August 2016

 

Roles:

  • I helped facilitate the process of aggregate collection and recorded the results after grading.
  • Ensured that the process of soil compaction testing and observation of aggregate base and asphalt concrete was properly done to the standards
  • I was given the responsibility of ensuring that the cubes laid were properly labeled according to their different classes of concrete and dates of crushing before curing was done.
  • I assisted in the supervision of obtaining soil samples from soil density and proposed borrow pits and core samples of asphalt concrete from the field.
  • Liaised with the consultant to ensure that all tests are to standard as per the specifications given.

Project Name:  Construction of Karama Box Culvert

Location-        Karama Meru maua road, Meru county 

Period:            April 2014 to August 2014

 

Roles:

  • Ensured appropriate concrete mixing classes
  • I helped ensure that shuttering placing was at specific standard measures
  • Safety precautions were well observed and undertaken on site
  • Invert levels were well laid to ensure a still flow of water
  • Being a local I helped the contractor solve issues with the locals on the most challenging occasions.
