Daphine Kamau

 I am an Economics graduate with extensive knowledge in finance, accounts, tax and audit. During my attachment period at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company, I gained practical experience in various accounting softwares, tracking and reconciling accounts payable, handling the finance and credit control system, financial record keeping and preparing reports. I am passionate about working with numbers and I aim to obtain a position in a finance field in a driven and collaborative environment where I can add value by bringing my strong dedication and responsibility all while applying my skills to broaden my experience.
 

During my attachment period at kenya power I executed the following responsibilities:

Preparing weekly and Monthly reports.
Track and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Handling the finance and credit control system.
Payment plans. Initiate and monitor installment payment plan.
Perform financial record keeping.

I also gained the following professional skills:
Accounting skills. I am proficient  in reading and understanding financial documents.
Adaptability. Willingness to become familiar with different parts ot the organisation.
Communication skills. I am good at communicating through face to face interactions, phone conversation and digital communication like email and social media. I am also efficient in written communication.
Planning and organisation skills. I am able to identify and establish priorities and schedule them systematically so as to finish my workload on time.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills. I can effectively analyse a complex situation and come up with a suitable solution.
Interpersonal skills to deal with staff and other professionals.
Ability to engage in teamwork. I have a strong belief in teamwork and  I am able to contribute in a team to achieve set goals. 
Time management skills. I am able to do my work and deliver within set deadlines.

I pursued a bachelors degree in Economics at Mount Kenya University from  May 2018- December 2021.
